I have combination skin with oily t-zone (nose, chin, forehead) and dry-to-normal cheeks (depending on the season).
The main challenge of combination skin is balancing the oil and moisture levels in the different zones. This lotion (sometimes Korean manufacturers also call lotions “emulsion”) tries to do just that. The combination of marshmallow root and green tea leaves make the skin supple without oiliness.
The brand Innisfree owns USDA organic certified green tea fields on an island called Jeju. This total control of the green tea supply chain allows them to process the leaves while they are still fresh. Green tea is a prominent ingredient in many of the company’s lines. The freshly picked leaves are steamed and processed using a patented method within just one hour of collection. The resulting “green complex” is full of vitamins and antioxidants for healthy skin.
The lotion was one of my first purchases as a Korean beauty user, and it has lasted me for almost a year (impressive! The bottle is a generous 160ml/5.41 fl oz). To be fair, I had some other products I was using as well, so it wasn’t always on my daily routine list. But it’s still a very good size.
My only complaint about the product is the dispenser, or a total lack of one. Thankfully, the lotion is quite liquid and can be easily poured into the palm and then applied, but I would have preferred a pump for convenience reasons. That’s a small thing, however, and in no way takes away from the effectiveness of the lotion.
I’m a big Innisfree fan, and this product helped that fandom get started. It’s light yet very hydrating, not greasy at all, not sticky, and smells fantastic. It absorbs very well and doesn’t interfere with makeup application. Made specifically for combination skin, but would work well for oily skin as well especially in the winter when extra hydration might be needed. The company also makes Green Tea Fresh line for oily skin. My skin is so soft and smooth after using this!
How to use:
Apply to the face and neck after cleanser, toner and serum (if using).
