107 Soseo VINBIOME Vitamin C Serum Review

This is a sponsored post with affiliate links. Product provided by Be Mused Korea.

My morning routines are super basic - a water rinse (or toner pad), vitamin C, and sunscreen. Most dermatologists and aestheticians agree that adding vitamin C to the morning routine can help fight free radicals and make sunscreen more effective.

107 beauty is a lovely brand - they make one of my favorite moisturizers (review here), and I’m also currently using their cleanser (review here). Of course I had to try 107 Soseo Vinbiome Vitamin C Serum. This is an antioxidant serum that promises to visibly brighten, firm, and hydrate the skin. The star ingredients are stabilized 15% vitamin C and the brand’s complex VinBiome™ plus ginseng, niacinamide, and green tea. A full list is provided at the end of the article. The serum is available on Be Mused Korea (save on any full priced items with code LUCY15).

How to use

  • Apply 2-3 drops to clean, dry skin in the morning and / or evening

  • Gently pat in

  • Follow with the rest of your routine

  • For best results, use consistently for at least four weeks

One of the things that sets 107 products aside from everything else is the special vinegar. The VinBiome™ complex is made with 10-year premium black vinegar with over 45 micronutrients, vitamins, polyphenols, minerals, amino acids, peptides, and organic acids. When I first read about vinegar in 107 offerings, I was afraid it would be harsh or sting the skin - this isn’t the case. If I didn’t know aged vinegar was included, I wouldn’t have been able to tell - nothing smells like traditional vinegar and it doesn’t sting the skin.

107 Soseo Vitamin C serum has a somewhat thick, slippy consistency that may feel a little oily but isn’t greasy or sticky. I’m usually heavy handed with serums, but here 2-3 drops is all that’s needed. It is very easy to spread and feels like a luxurious mix of serum and light moisturizer all at once. I was applying too much at first, which makes it tacky, but now I have the process perfected and have no complaints. I do not notice any scent or color.

My impressions

I like this serum, especially in the Fall and Winter, when the air is cold and dry. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone, but it can still get dry to the point of flaking and itching. I often add an emulsion or a cream step to my morning routines once the weather gets cold. However, I don’t find myself needing that step while using 107 vitamin C. I apply it after my water rinse or the toner pad, gently massage it in, then let it sit for a little bit (just a minute or so) before finishing with SPF.

Most of my vitamin C serums have been watery and very light in feel, almost like having nothing on the skin at all. 107 beauty is different in a good way. It makes my skin glow without being greasy. Even after applying sunscreen (and most of mine are matte in finish), my face has a healthy radiance that I do not experience with other products.

It hasn’t quite been the four recommended weeks for me (but very close), yet I do notice brightening and the aforementioned glow. Not to mention that the texture of this product helps hide any flaking or dry areas of the face (especially when I overdo it with tret) but doesn’t overwhelm my oily t-zone. Win win win. This is on a pricier side, but with only 2-3 drops per use I expect it to last for many months. Another great product from 107 and another lovely curation from Be Mused Korea.
