I used to shy away from moisturizers, mistakenly thinking that my combination skin didn’t need them. Now I realize that properly hydrating and moisturizing my skin makes both the dry and the oily areas happy.
I’ve had the pleasure of trying the 107 Everyday Plump Hydro Cream for several weeks now. It’s available on BeMused Korea, Jolse and 107 website. Watch the unboxing reel here (they really nailed the presentation / packaging, in my opinion).
The 107 Everyday Plump Hydro Cream is a 2021 Harper's Bazaar Korea Beauty Award Winner. It’s a light moisturizer marketed for all skin types. In addition to vitamins and amino acids, the cream features a special vinegar aged for 7 years (that’s as old as my oldest child!). This specially purified vinegar contains 17 amino acids. Fun fact - this company actually makes edible vinegars as well (please don’t eat the cream). That’s not all - there are also fermented ingredients, squalane, and sunflower seed oil. The product is cruelty free and doesn’t contain synthetic dyes or fragrances.
How to use:
Apply after cleansing and toning
Massage a dime-sized amount into face and neck
The cream can also be mixed into foundation or BB cream for a dewy finish (I haven’t tried doing that).
107 Hydro Cream has a beautiful silky texture. A dime-sized amount doesn’t sound like a lot, but it’s really all that’s needed. A little goes a long way. There’s a mild, pleasant scent that is not very noticeable and doesn’t linger.
My impressions
This is one of my favorite evening moisturizers. It can be used in the morning as well, but my combination skin does fine with just SPF.
I had a feeling I’d love it ever since trying some for my unboxing reel. I slathered a generous amount on my arm (regretting using that much later), and the skin became soft right away. More importantly, it stayed soft for a couple of days - noticeably better than the skin on my other arm.
I love the silky gel-like texture, and the application feels luxurious every time. If I do a minimal routine beforehand (cleanser / toner), then the cream isn’t sticky. If I layer lots of other essences and serums, then the cream can feel a little sticky afterwards. I don’t care about that in my evening skincare - I only care about results.
I’ve noticed an overall refreshed look, plumped up fine lines, and moisturized skin. I wake up with a glowing face (no stickiness). The squalane in the ingredients protects from water loss, which can happen at an increased rate at night.
I’m usually heavy handed with my products, but I find myself almost rationing this one. I never want to run out.
