Do you have a favorite, trusted brand? Trusted to the point of not even having to review ingredients for safety, because you know that they are all safe and high quality? For me, that brand is Purito. I think I’ve owned every product they make, and you can read my reviews here.
I’ve had many, many samples of their Centella Green Level Recovery Cream (not to be confused with the centella eye cream, reviewed here), and now I have a full size. It’s available on eBay, Amazon, and Eopenmarket.
I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and dry-to-normal cheeks that is not very breakout prone. My super fair (ok, pale, so pale) freckled complexion means that anything like a small scratch, an extracted blackhead, or simply looking at the skin wrong turns it red. Centella asiatica is a very popular healing ingredient in Korean cosmetics and can greatly reduce redness and inflammation, making it fantastic for skin like mine.
Purito Centella Green Level Recovery Cream benefits:
Supports a healthy skin barrier
Evens out the skin tone
Fights wrinkles
Soothes irritation
Moisturizes without being sticky or heavy
Since this is Purito, all of the ingredients are EWG rated as green/safe.
Active ingredients:
Centella Asiatica extract - a healing, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial herbal extract.
Asiaticoside, asiatic acid - an active wrinkle fighting ingredient derived from centella asiatica.
Madecassic acid - another component isolated from centella asiatica. Speeds up wound healing by stimulating collagen synthesis.
Hamamelis Virginiana (witch hazel) extract - a natural astringent that helps with inflammation, oil production and redness.
Niacinamide - reduces pigmentation, tightens pores, improves the look of wrinkles and fine lines.
How to use:
Apply an appropriate amount as the last step of skincare (before sunscreen)
Can be used morning and night
My impressions:
This is my most favorite cream. It works perfectly with my combination skin, all year long. Back in January, I took samples of it to Germany and it kept my face looking good even in the damp coldness of local weather. Now, in late July, it nourishes and soothes without being greasy.
I’ve mentioned that my skin is prone to redness - not from allergies but from being incredibly fair and showing any sort of physical influence like a scratch immediately. This cream does wonders in reducing redness in mere hours. If I have a breakout trying to start (typically around certain times of the month, most ladies can probably relate), this cream along with my other secret weapons can usually stop zits in their tracks.
One of the huge reasons I love it so much is how my skin feels afterwards. Sure, I’ll use a sticky/greasy/weirdly textured product if it’s effective, BUT this cream is effective AND feels very nice. It gets absorbed quickly and makes my skin velvety smooth and a bit matte (it’s not mattifying but it doesn’t produce any sheen, either).
The scent is very mild and somewhat herbal, it’s hard to describe. I find it pleasant. If you have tried their centella eye cream, to me the scent is the same.

This cream was generously provided to me for review by Purito and a Korean cosmetics store Eopenmarket. That in no way influenced this review - all opinions are honest, as usual.
