I wrote the original review in November 2017. Now, I’m on my last drops of this great product and can speak about it with even more confidence and experience.
This boosting essence promises to:
Control sebum/oil production
Fight wrinkles
Hydrate and nourish
Even out pigmentation
Improve skin texture
Fermented components are becoming popular in Korean skincare because of their unique properties; the fermented particles in this booster are 150,000 times smaller than pores and can penetrate deeply into the skin, improving it from deep within.
Active ingredients:
Lactobacillus/rice ferment - suppresses melanin production leading to a more even skin tone
Bifida ferment lysate - lifts and hydrates
Niacinamide - lightens pigmentation without causing sensitivity to the sun
Adenosine - stimulates cellular regeneration and supports elasticity
The essence is slightly thicker than water. It can be used as a toner (which I often do) or in addition to one and makes the rest of the skincare routine more effective. Purito products are designed to work together and the manufacturer recommends using this essence with their snail serum. So if you are having a little (or a lot) of skin trouble like breakouts and acne - Purito power duo to the rescue.
How to use:
Cleanse the face
Apply the booster to the face either with hands (what I prefer) or cotton balls
Continue with the rest of your routine (serum, lotion, etc.)
Like all Purito products, this essence is made with EWG certified green (safe) ingredients. It’s 10-free, which means it doesn’t contain parabens, mineral oils, paraffin, colorants, ethanol, triethanolamine, benzophenone, phthalates, formaldehyde, BHT.
My impressions:
I’m seriously sad that I only have about one use of this essence left. I’ve been enjoying it regularly since November 2017, so I’d say it lasted a very long time. I love that it absorbs easily, doesn’t smell like anything, and doesn’t leave a sticky residue. My skin has gotten softer and my freckles look much paler. Of course, it’s hard to isolate the effects of a single product since I have a large routine and try many things, but I liked this one. When coupled with the Purito snail serum (a review on their updated version coming soon), it really does clear my minor breakouts quickly. My favorite way to use it is right before a sheet mask as it makes the active ingredients in the mask penetrate deeper.
Purito and Korean store Eopenmarket have generously gifted me this product. As usual, all opinions are my own and honest. Check out my other Purito reviews here.
