My inner hobbit has been wanting this mask for a long time (about a year), and I’ve almost bought it multiple times but have always considered it a novelty-type splurge from the “pretty packaging” category. But I eventually gave in and bought it. Why did I wait so long??? I should have bought it right away!
I’ve liked bubble tea (the kind you would actually drink) since high school when they became “a thing”. I used to stop by a local tea shop on the way home (aaah, life before parenting, when I had time to spontaneously stop somewhere) and get a mint bubble milk (a smoothie-type thing with milk, mint, and green tea and tapioca “bubbles” on the bottom). It was pure bliss with whipped cream on top.
Of course, I don’t recommend you drink the mask, but dang - the manufacturer got the look of bubble tea just right. But the little bubbles on the bottom aren’t tapioca but a burst of hydration for your skin. I chose the Green Tea variety (there’s also a black tea and strawberry tea in the same line) because it’s soothing and can help make the skin more clear. I basically bought it to have on hand for an occasional breakout or when I can’t keep myself from self-extraction (aka pimple popping).
How to use:
1. Apply at the stage of cream (instead of cream) either just the gel or the gel + 1-2 bubbles crushed and mixed in your palm
2. Go to bed
3. Wash off the remnants in the morning with water or cleanser
The mask is great. The main part is a translucent green gel with absolutely no sticky feeling and a great absorption. The product comes with an adorable long spoon to get the bubbles from the bottom. When the skin needs extra hydration, just crush one or two of the bubbles in your palm and mix with the gel, then apply. All of the bubble particles blend with the gel so no worries about seeing “bubble guts” on the face.

My skin looks hydrated, soothed, and radiant in the morning. The mask promises sebum (skin oil) control, and I’d say it accomplishes that. The scent is mild and pleasant.
The black tea mask promises glowing, hydrated skin, while strawberry boasts of health and moisture. I haven’t tried those (yet, but I want to).
