I’m 28 and have a very light skin prone to freckles; I burn immediately at any time of the year. I have always taken sun protection very seriously and slathered my face and everything else with gross, white, greasy, smelly US sunscreens. I seriously shiver when I think about it. Ew. And then Korean skincare burst into my life, including their sunscreens. When I ran out of the wonderful Etude House sunscreen, I decided to try the famous MISSHA one.
The key ingredients:
Tea tree extract - controls sebum production, aids in healing of inflammation and zits
Antozone-Roze - protects the skin from the environments - dirt, ozone, and UV rays
Thanaka (a special type of tree bark) - soothes the skin. I got curious and read a bit more about it. The scientists from University of London and Bangkok concluded that this bark contains a high amount of antioxidants and has an anti inflammatory effect. The active ingredient marmesin acts as a natural UV-A barrier.
The manufacturer promises a smooth, matte skin without dryness for the whole day and 100% UV ray protection. Safe for sensitive skin.
My impressions: a must have! It’s such a great product for skin prone to an oily sheen. Once a week I give my skin a “day off” from all skincare product, but when it’s sunny I still use sunblock. In the picture I have no other skincare on, just this product. I took a picture after running errands for several hours and walking outside in and out of the car. As you can see, nothing is shiny - and that’s without powder.
I have no complaints about using makeup over this product. It might lighten your skin if you have a dark complexion, but on me that doesn’t happen. Overall, it was a great buy for me and I would definitely repurchase.
